Link building

Shareworld is at the stage now where we’ve done a lot of work on seo – we have a good site structure, regular news items, the site is almost completely valid HTML.

Our next big target is link building – which is proving a very difficult task – we have toyed with link building services such as direct link ads and text link ads – two services that offer paid for link exchanges, but after Reading up on the subject I found that google does not condone these services.

As much as I think they do work, I don’t want to get into bad habbits, so it’s back to the drawing board for our link building strategy – we are picking up natural back links over time but it seems such a hard area to actively work on – whilst also sticking to the rules… Comments please.

  1. You know, I have to tell you, I really enjoy this blog and the insight from everyone who participates. I find it to be refreshing and very informative. I wish there were more blogs like it. Anyway, I felt it was about time I posted.

  2. Excellent blog–keep it coming! One thing I would comment on, being of the older generation, is the spelling and grammar. It is a tiny criticism admitedly as your content conveys your original thought processes and understanding of your subject and some might say, surely, that the most important part is the content (which it is). However, it is a simple matter to run a spell check before publishing. I know you ‘respect’ Google and as that is their name, surely it deserves to warrant a capital G!!
Having said that don’t let the spelling and grammar improve at the expense of the content.

  3. Fair point! My spelling/grammers not great. I’m sure there’s actually a website for spelling – dictionry.com – but I think the sites down:(
