fdfskdf - test two

30-05-2008

I have created this HTML document as part two of DS32s keyword research on Google. I am using the same made up word (fdfskdf) as I used on the first keyword research page. I will mention fdfskdf the same amount of times in the body of this text as I have on the first page (5 times), and I will link the keyword to this article - fdfskdf. Lastly, I will try and include roughly the same amount of words in the body of the text as I have on the first page (190 words).

fdfskdf - keyword research

Now we have a page that is identical to the first research page (but the text is different so Google should still index this second page). The only thing I shall do differently on this page is to add fdfskdf to the alt tag of the image (over to the above). This will test whether or not Google takes into account ALT tags when prioritising pages based on keywords.

Submited sitemap to Google. Current pages indexed: 21. Pages in latest sitemap: 23.

Search on Google for this page

This page has finally been indexed on Google, see it here. It has been added below the previously indexed page, even though there is an extra keyword in here (in the alt tag of an image). This leads me to believe that alt tags are not terribly important.

So lets take an analysis of the two pages (pre-12-06-2008; so not including this text).

Page Words in Body Keywords in Body PR Inbound Links Other Differences
1 190 4 n/a 0 Title contains only keyword
2 176 4 n/a 0 Title contains other text

So the only dicernable differences are the amount of words in each page, the fact the the first page is older and the fact that the title of this page contains other words. Or perhaps this page has been placed in position number two simply by default.

The next stage will be to create a third page, and in the mean time, I am going to create an inbound link to this page, from Flinks.org.

Update

A page has now been created on Flinks.org linking to this page, hopefully this will provide an inbound link, giving this page more prominence on Google for our search-term.

19-06-2008

This page has now been partically removed from Google for containing content similar to the third test page (which has now been indexed by Google). Also the page on Flinks.org that links to this page has not yet been re-indexed by Google, so the backlink is not showing.

After analyzing the two pages, using a VB Script from this site, I have found that there are 37 matching words in the two pages. The most common words are as follows:

Word Count
Page: Test2 Test3
fdfskdf 5 7
google 7 5
i 10 2
on 10 3
page 26 11
this 16 6
will 6 5

To remedy the problem of duplicate content I have changed some of the most popular words in this article and I have also changed the title tag on this document so it is less similar to the third test-page.
